Beneath the surface of the ocean exists an incredibly hostile world - an icy world immersed in eternal darkness where the pressure is phenomenal. This world is the abyssal domain - the largest habitat on our planet.
Yet, some air-breathing, young-feeding marine mammals, like us, spend much of their time in this dark world. Scientists are now discovering that the depths reached by these ocean giants are much greater than previously thought.

Using transmitter beacons worn by the animals, abyssal cameras and 3D scan images, this film accompanies and illustrates a contemporary scientific revolution. Constructed according to a dramatic progression towards the abyss - from the shallowest to the deepest dive - it brings to the forefront the often unknown animals and their remarkable physiological adaptations to the pressures of the great depths.

On March 9, 1953, Joseph Stalin died in Moscow. His funeral was that of a demigod. Last irony of one of the worst criminals in the history of the 20th century, who brought misery to his people while creating a collective admiration. During more than 30 years of absolute rule, millions of people died.
With Stalin's policy the standard of living fell. The poverty of the early 1930s was evident on the streets of Moscow. In his labor re-education camps, better known as the Gulag, he imprisoned 18 million Russians, turning them into slaves. Machiavellian and paranoid, Stalin invented the impeachment trial, where sentences were set before the start of the hearing. He starved 7,000,000 peasants to death as punishment for refusing his revolution. He had fooled the entire world through false propaganda campaigns.
During World War II, Adolf Hitler set out to destroy Stalin. On June 16, 1941, three million soldiers attacked the USSR. The Nazis took over the city of Stalingrad, which was finally liberated by Russian troops in November 1942. In February 1943 the German troops surrendered. With this victory, Stalin became the first leader to defeat Hitler, which gave him the recognition of the international community.

Documentary using only original colour footage charts the 12 years from Adolf Hitler's rise to power to the fall of Berlin in 1945. Complemented by eyewitness material, tracks the dramatic transformation of Germany into a Nazi state, looks into Hitler's relationship with his lover Eva Braun and replicates pivotal events, including Nazi rallies, the invasion of Poland, Hitler's meeting with Lloyd George, the horrors of Buchenwald concentration camp, Warsaw's Jewish Ghetto, the Battle of Britain and the fall of Berlin.

The grey seal has always been adept at hunting fast, elusive prey. As one of Europe's largest predators, the decline of fish stocks and increase in competition, as well as legal seal hunting, has changed their entire world--and their behavior. Recent improvements in annual surveys and animal tagging have revealed precious information about where grey seals go when they leave the coast and how they spend their lives. The raging waters have washed away parts of the road, and in places, the track is submerged for hundreds of meters.
